The Return of Water

Exposition | Casa  de México en España
Madrid, España
2024

An intervention on the main staircase of the Casa de México building in Spain, comprised of a collection of sculptures in stone, wood, and copper, articulates architectural elements and creates pathways that seek to capture the essence of water. It aims to expand our perceptual relationship with this primordial element, transcending its ineffable expression through its reflections and echoes to evoke a memory that today feels dissolved.

The intervention invites us to contemplate water not only as a physical resource, but also as a carrier of memories and emotions. In a world where the connection with nature often feels dissolved, these sculptures act as tangible reminders of our relationship with water.

The artwork seeks to dissolve the barriers between the everyday and the transcendent.

It becomes a bridge between daily life and the intangible essence of water, challenging our memory to reconnect with the vital importance of this element in our existence.

The installation is not only an artistic expression, but also an opportunity to revitalize our perception of water and its meaning rooted in collective memory.

Writing a Landscape

Exposition  |  Liga: Espacio
para Arte y Arquitectura

2024

Water –an element that has been particularly invisible during Modernity both in urban planning and in domestic space– becomes the center of the proposal. Through a mysterious circuit of canals and deposits made from recycled elements, TANAT composes a landscape to activate an oneiric and, at the same time, a thoughtful game in which the times and discursivities are overlapped: Is it memory, future, or simply a work of fiction?

The pieces in the intervention, with their strange scales, will mutate in LIGA’s space during the exhibition period. Like a natural landscape, TANAT’s proposal will grow organically expanding our imagination.

“Technologies do not develop through a linear succession of interconnected evolutionary stages, nor do they follow any internal logic, but rather they emerge in a particular social and ecological environment.”

In the heart of San Miguel de Allende, Altar Casa Arca emerges as a space shaped by both its climate and surroundings. Designed to blend into the city’s historic fabric, it frames strategic views of the Parroquia and other 18th- and 19th-century domes, establishing a direct connection with the urban landscape.
More than a structure, Altar Casa Arca is an evolving dialogue between architecture and place. Shadows shift, materials breathe, and spaces remain open to their surroundings, creating a refuge that is both rooted and adaptable, where landscape and built form exist in continuous conversation. By integrating natural light, climate-responsive design, and locally sourced materials, the project offers an experience that is immersive, tactile, and deeply connected to its environment.

Cities are fictions.
More than a collection of natural
and built elements, they are places
sustained by the immaterial substance
of people's experiences and their
personal meanings.

The landscape is as elusive as it is infinite.

Its magnitude is defined by what our eyes can perceive, and yet, it is never static: it changes every instant.

Is it part of time, or is time part of the landscape?

The landscape is, then, a moment, a fleeting event that only exists in the time of the one who contemplates it.
